Abstract:This paper provides the suggestion of Fed chairman Alan Greenspan, and also consequence of Mr. Greenspan's speech in New York for a situation on stock market. The author considers Mr. Greenspan's comments and welcomes them because he believes that technology has paved the way for a dramatic and long-lasting increase in productivity levels, and that such a rise should help keep inflation at bay for now. Later the author states that the current slowdown could turn into a real nightmare if corporate credit conditions deteriorate further. That scenario could change if energy prices continue to go up, or if the world economy - most notably Europe and Japan - fails to pick up steams. The article includes a number of tables and charts.
