Abstract:The article explores different types of counterfeiting in the fashion industry and the ethical issues involved. Counterfeiting is one of the biggest problems facing luxury goods companies in a globalizing market. Copying designs is endemic and tolerated within the industry, which raises various ethical dilemmas. These issues are examined in the context of different types of counterfeiting. The paper concludes with some observations on the general implications for ethics in intellectual property rights.
