Abstract:Organizational theatre (henceforth as: org-th.) is nowadays used as a vehicle for analogically mediated inquiry, helping people understand their organization better and hence, necessitating change. With a combination of interview, visual and survey methods, this article looks into a long-term org-th. effort, aiming to find out the analogical effects org-th. has on employees' understanding of their place of employment. The paper introduces a so called looking glass effect, where interpretations are in constant movement due to perspectives within an org-th. getting skewed and greater messages and message makers losing importance. From a broader point of view, this article contributes to the discussion of analogical thinking in organization studies.
