Abstract: | This study analyzes frameworks linking corporate governance (henceforth as: c-g.) and firm values to governing boards' social (here as: soc.) networks (here as: soc-nets.) and innovations in technology. CEOs may participate in board members' soc-nets., which interferes with the quality of c-g. At the same time, soc. connections with members of a board can allow for better evaluation of the members' abilities. In addition, technologies like the Internet and electronic mail reducing the extent of face-to-face networking cause agents to seek satisfaction of their soc. needs at the workplace, which complicates the impact of soc-nets. governance. |
