| Abstract: | Research and development should cooperative to come a faster and better innovation process. The survey attempts to provide an insight into the technological and manufacturing strategy designed and implemented by the large manufacturers in Europe examined over the period from 1982 to 1984. The database covers about 350 companies. The results of the analysis allow to assert some hypothesis about the changes in the length of the product life cycle; the importance of process engineering and proprietary process of know-how; and the interface between manufacturing and research development as perceived by the manufacturing side. |
