| Abstract: | The recognition and avoidance of risk are two essential preconditions for the successful development of a business enterprise. Attention has been focused increasingly on risk management in order to facilitate both the setting and attainment of objectives in the face of ever increasing dangers. Risk-conscious management should be based on a suitable corporate culture and philosophy within the framework of all planning, steering and control processes. The question of the structure of risk management is basically a question of the top management's attitude to risk. |
