Abstract:Methods of mobilizing personal energy in organizations are discussed. A model is introduced describing the role that the organization's mission plays in this field. Different types of organizational cultures are analyzed. Power-oriented and role-oriented organizations are compared. These cultures foster external motivation. The general characteristics of high energy work situations are outlined. Achievement cultures manage to maintain the culture of commitment over long periods of time. Characteristics of achievement-oriented organizations are listed, analyzed and compared with the features of support cultures. The role of company mission in the culture is emphasized.
