Abstract: | As the German economy looks set to become even more dominant in Europe, contrasts with management in the UK take on added significance. The application of microelectronics in British and German companies is discussed. In the centre is the relationship between product strategy and training. It is argued that the contours of the British industrial culture have become more clearly defined in recent years, as people have actively worked from within it to change it, but the result has been to highlight the the fundamental differences with Germany. |
