| Abstract: | The phenomenon of manufacture trade deals described as "off-invoice" and/or "bill-back" in markets for frequently purchased consumer goods are examined. Pricing strategies of manufacturers in the manufacturer-retailer- consumer distribution channel are analyzed to provide a new explanation for manufacturer trade deals and subsequent price promotions. |
