| Abstract: | To approach the average level of the EU living standard and to insure sustainable economic development, Latvia has to pay special attention to evaluating its competitive capacity. The question of how long it will take Latvia to close in income gap with EU countries depends on the competitiveness of the economy in the international market, particularly in the EU market. In the EU Comission's 1997 report there was a decessive argument against Latvia's accession. |
