Abstract: | Open markets and foreign investment are changing Central and Eastern Europe's automotive sector beyond recognition. Central and Eastern Europe's producers have scrambled to survive. Trade liberalization has unleashed tremendous competition, with Western car-maker giants turning the region into today's battleground for new market share. Domestic manufacturers are competing with an ever increasing network of dealers - not burdened with the overheads associated with manufacturing sites and selling a wide range of imported new and used Western models. |
