Abstract:Health care in the Visegrad countries is still ailing. But the absence of funds, and lack of significant privatisation and foreign investment will only mean delays in finding a cure. Visegrad health care systems are in crisis. No wonder. The Poles, Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians, still reeling from history, are colliding with the future. Their population's faltering health - a legacy of the communist years which looks set to keep worsening - means an explosion of demand just when already stretched resources grow scarcer.
