Abstract: | Slovakia's government has isolated the country from EU, NATO and polite society. But now its backers in big business are starting to say: "Enough". The casual visitors would be charmed by Bratislava and Kosice, Slovakia's capital and second city respectively. Both have small yet well-serviced and elegantly renovated centers, where baroque buildings huddle together on streets alive with commercial activity. The men to thank for that urban renewal are the mayors of Bratislava and Kosice. |
