| Abstract: | An empirical investigation into the behaviour of managers in their everyday work is presented in this paper. Three managers have been continuously observed over a one-week period, with the observed behaviour being classified according to multiple categories. The results question the general validity of the results presented by the "work-activity" school of research, which has depicted the work of managers as fragmented, reactive and opportunistic. |
