Abstract:This research note comments on Starbuck's article about the causes of faddishness in the social science research (Starbuck, B. (2009). The constant causes of never-ending faddishness in the behavioral and social sciences. Scandinavian Journal of Management, 25(1), 108-116). It looks at the relentless pressure to publish in the top journals of Management Studies. No sign of decline exists, and yet such desperation to do something of value not because it is useful but because demand for it is great certainly satisfies the definition of fad.
