Abstract:This is a report on the amateur market for camera film, and it covers the film processing and developing sector. Sales of camera film peaked at 118 mn units, valued at 265 mn pounds, in 1989 but then fell to a low point of 89 mn units, worth of 230 mn pounds by 1993. Sales have steadily increased since then to 96 mn units, worth 234 mn pounds in 1996. Some 91-92% of total film sales by volume are of 35mn format. Ths percentage has been steadily increasing over the years at the expense of all other formats. Instant film has recently shown increasing sales.
