Abstract:Organization theory and science is a broad and vital discipline. Thus the identification of its development and future tendencies are quite difficult. In this article contributions from the field that have been published in German-speaking journals from 1992 to 2002 are analyzed. Research shows, that Process Organization and Organizational Theory have been the most popular topics in this period. When it comes to theories most of the authors refer to institutional theory or evolution theory. The most prominent organization forms are networks and process structures. Possible future opportunities for research exist among others in the area of meta- organization, in organic organizational structures:!! and in self-organized systems that rather rely on trust than on control.
