Abstract: | Workers' needs change as they age and move through various career cycles. After a lifetime of changing needs and values, older workers often arrive at a compromise in outlook and behavior. It also includes that they struggle with changing work-role identification, see managerial opportunities shifting to other workers, face the results of reality and handle alienation. Although some older workers cope well, others develop psychological problems. Understanding the differences between how younger and older workers respond to their work environment and how their needs differ helps supervisors perform their job better. |
