Abstract: | The purpose of this article is to examine the just-in-time system (JIT) as it is applied in today's business environment. Does JIT work? Does it save money and time to eliminate waste? The authors believe that their exposition answers with a most resounding YES! JIT is a system for all business sizes. The authors identify the key ingredients that make JIT work. They ascertain why JIT successfully saves money, time and waste. JIT philosophy and its overriding nature are discussed first. |
