| Abstract: | A description of modelling the maintenance aspect of a project and its application to life cycle costing. The modelling system encompasses the range of mean time between failure and mean time to repair and influences exerted by external events. The study aims to give answers to management questions concerning the design and operation phases, illustrated with reference to an operating plant. A model is described with input and output data, and twelve Figures are given. The author opines that decision assisting information gained from the total project model enables project feasibility, configuration, design and execution to be assessed. |
