| Abstract: | There is no "Just-in-Time" if the supplied raw materials and semi-manufactured products are not in order: synchronous fabrication calls for total quality. Consequently, quality management in a company constitutes the key to a strategic successful position. The main elements of a quality management system are listed and analyzed: quality consciousness, quality requirements, processes of the quality assurance. An up to date quality concept is presented. Some international examples of quality management standards are provided. It is emphasized that both the company personnel and the supplier have to be trained accordingly. |
