Abstract: | Just-in-Time (JIT) is more than a production control method; it is a philosophy of manufacturing. The five most important goals served by the JIT philosophy are listed. Some of the desirable conditions of a successful JIT implementation are described. The human resource aspects of JIT are explained. The steps necessary for a sound JIT implementation are briefly reviewed. Some details of management education and training as well as employee education and training are discussed. The ways of developing a cooperative JIT environment are examined. The following four methods are mentioned: diagnostic activities, teambuilding activities, intergroup activities, process consultation. |
