| Abstract: | This article explores the relationship between capital availability and entrepreneurial propensity by comparing following financing sources; debt financing, venture capital financing, informal investments. Using data from the World Bank's Doing Business Database the influence of business costs is estimated by constructing a new composite index. The findings suggest that only informal investments have influence on entrepreneurial propensity, and that regulatory business costs hinder entrepreneurship driven by opportunity but not necessity entrepreneurship. |
