Abstract: | Certain requirements have to be taken into account when determining the sustainability performance of a company, such as the direct impact of on-site processes as well as indirect impacts of the supply chains of a company. Life cycle thinking of this type is the common theme of popular carbon, ecological and water footprint analyses. This article presents a triple-bottom-line accounting framework and software tool that incorporates these indicators into one common reporting scheme based on economic input−output analysis. It is applied in a case study of a small company in the United Kingdom. The limitations and implications for corporate sustainability are also discussed. |
