Abstract:The report examines the European retail market for shower and bath products in France, Italy, the UK, Germany and Spain , the period under review is 1992 for current data and 1996-2001 for the future outlook. Germany leads the way with a bath and shower products market valued at USD1,105 million in 1996. This market is near saturation in volume terms and the resulting price pressures led to a 1.7% real value decrease in 1996. Showers are fast becoming preferred over baths for everyday washing in all countries due to their convenience and environmental efficacy.
