Abstract: | International strategic alliances (ISAs) have proliferated in recent years. In particular, the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe view ISAs as playing a crucial role in their transformation to a market economy. Studies of ISAs have typically focused on the determinants of their success. Causes of failure are rarely investigated, despite the fact that a better understanding of the causes can reduce the possibility of future failures. This article presents an in-depth analysis of and ISA between IBM and Kvant, the leading Russian computer manufacturer. |
