Abstract:This report analyses the market for disposable paper products in Germany. For the purposes of the study, the market has been divided into a number of sectors. Among the main findings of the article are the following: 1) Over the review period the retail market for disposable paper products was characterized by increasing competition between both manufacturers and retailers, winch dampened the development of value sales in 1999 and 2000. 2) Away-from-home sales of disposable paper products amount to approximately DM1,7 billion, up by a modest 3.1% in 2000. Sales of these products are characterized by high price sensitivity and a few dominant companies.
