Abstract:This economic history article approaches the question of branding and trade marking from a competitive advantage perspective. The case study presented in this research is Danish butter trade to the British market covering the 1880-1914 period. The authors describe the development in the Danish butter industry and importance of the reputation, quality and brand value to the exports.
