Abstract:The market for dairy products in Denmark consists of four product groups: whole milk, cream and sour cream, cheeses and butter. In 1989 the market stabilized after several years of decline, the real market value increased by 1 percent, consumption is expected to remain static over the next four years. The best performing sector was cheese. An overview of the dairy products market 1985-1989 is given. Production of dairy products, trade in dairy products, the market by sector is tabulated for 1985-1989. Consumption of milk by type and comparative per capita consumption of cheese for 1988/1989 and 1989, resp., is shown. Retail distribution data are presented and outlook for 1994 is shown.
