| Abstract: | The deregulation of Greek broadcasting has as much to do with politics as the need of the industry.The process of deregulation has become a power struggle between the socialist central government and the conservatives. The conservatives choose to apply market forces to TV, while the socialists may well opt for a compromise, a collaboration between ERT, the state broadcaster and private interest.The results of elections this June will determine the degree of liberalisation. |
