Abstract:Major companies in the USA now emphasize the environmental benefits of their products, investment firms offer newly created environmental funds, and power utilities sell conservation and efficiency. Almost every poll taken in recent years shows a marked increase in environmental concern. Since 1985 over 700 green products - a product grown organically, made from degradable materials, containing little or no phosphate, - have been introduced. However, not all of these products are as green as they claim. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering a labelling program as part of its pollution prevention efforts. The German recycling program called Blue Angel is described and compared to the USA recycling efforts.
