| Abstract: | Competencies may have taken over the HR world, but is it appropriate to apply them to graduate recruitment? In the first part of this double feature on the issue, the authors advise employers to take a more strategic, multi- disciplined approach to selection. A great deal of time, effort and money is invested by organizations in the development of competencies. Full competency frameworks are now relied upon to underpin the whole HR function and, when they are well produced, they offer significant benefits. |
