Abstract: | The paper introduces a study of group decision making. The hyphothesis was that preference factions within decision-making groups would have greater impact to the extent that faction-member preferences are based on shared information. Such factions are believed to exhibit high information commonality (IC). In the study high-IC factions exerted greater influence on members' private allocation preferences. These impacts seem to have been due to the ability of high-IC faction members to work together in a more coordinate way to argue their position. |
