Abstract:In 1994, the Sino-Canadian trade volume reached US$ 3.228 billion, chalking up a historical record, up 25.4% over last year. The imports and exports structure of both countries is moving towards pluralization and optimization. At the same year, the mechanical and electrical products became the first major products exported by Canada to China in stead of wheat which as well as potash fertilizer were the major imports of China before. At the same time, the mechanical and electrical products substituting for textile products also became the first major products exported by China to Canada. Canada has invested US$ 0.714 billion in 111 enterprises in China. On the other hand, Canada is one of the major foreign countries invested by China.
