Abstract:Germany is China's biggest trade partner in Europe. The bilateral trade reached US dollar 11.89 billion in 1994. As Europe's second biggest country of investment in China, Germany had a total of 1019 direct investment of projects that had been approved by China's government by the end of June, 1995, with the contracted investment amounting to US dollar 3.157 billion. Under the economic cooperation agreement, the two sides established a ministerial- level economic mixture committee that serves as a framework within which a comparatively sound coordination mechanism for trade cooperation was established.
