Abstract:Since the 1980s, Chinese enterprises have established over 160 solely-funded enterprises, joint ventures or trade corporations in 24 countries and regions in Latin America, one after another. Their investment there have amounted to about US$ 0.3 billion. In 1995, there were 16 approved projects with an investment of US$ 9.82 million. China's economy and Latin American countries' economies can complement each other in many lines. There are many favorable conditions for further development in such fields as mining industry, agriculture and animal husbandry, fishery, resource development, hydropower station projects, and labor-dredging. The problems are the influence of anti- dumping on the expansion of China's export to Latin America and the new challenge of the grouping of Latin-American regional economy to China.
