Abstract:The concentration of its share ownership is an important factor affecting relations between shareholders and the management of the company. Where ownership is highly concentrated, share holding interests are able to be well represented in major decision-making because a small number of large shareholders can dominate votes taken at company meetings. The study is not concerned with the issue of control but with an investigation of how the distribution of voting power is affected by the distribution of share ownership.
