| Abstract: | The occasional series of overviews of national industrial relations systems continues this month with Portugal. The authors examine trade unions, employers' organisations, collective bargaining, industrial conflict, workplace industrial relations and labour law. Distinctive features include the primacy of sectoral bargaining, detailed regulation of bargaining processes, and a heavy reliance on the Constitution as the basis for workers' rights and the regulation of working conditions. |
