Abstract:There are a lot of work-related accidents each year caused by carelessness on the part of workers. But they often go back to wider organisational problems. It is important that organisations monitor their safety performance. The most frequent method used is the collection and analysis of statistics of accidents. But these must be supplemented by assessment of controlling and eliminating work-related hazards. Audit systems are a means of doing this.
