Abstract: | Savvy executives are ending telephone tag and reducing the high cost of business travel with computer conferencing. This is a way for several computer users in different locations and at different times to hold an electronic "conference call" on a particular topic. Some unique advantages of computer conferencing are considered. A number of quantifiable and less quantifiable benefits are mentioned. Some examples are provided to clear up the application opportunities open to the users of this technology. Suggestions are made on how to design and operate a computer conferencing system. Special attention is paid to the use of an electronic network service. |
