| Abstract: | The author presents idle time idea and how it is normally treated in CIMA examination questions, when idle time is budgeted at zero.He studies a question in a specimen paper for Stage 4 Management Accounting:Control and Audit and makes a new suggestion.It gives useful control information in both monetary and nonmonetary terms.Total valuations of the variances for idle time and efficiency focus attention on the cost to the firm in each area.Materiality of the variances and feedback enable corrective action. |
