Abstract:Core technologies (hereafter as: techs.) of strategic management are techs. of model-based rationality (here as: rat-y). As a result of successes and failures, the techs. used in organizations in their pursuit of intelligence can be supposed to change. Although techs. of rat-y. clearly seem to be effective instruments of exploitation in relatively simple situations deriving their adaptive advantage from those capabilities, in more complex explorations techs. seem often to lead to huge mistakes. It seems likely that any survival as instruments of exploratory novelty in complex situations may require hitchhiking on their successes in simpler worlds.
