| Abstract: | Observed absenteeism rates of firms vary sustematically with sectoral affiliation and firm size. Logit-estimations with firm data from Lower Saxony lead to the result that higher wages are correlated with lower absenteeism rates. Separate estimations for firm size classes ans sectoral affiliations obtain this result only for the class of firms with more than 200 workers and for a few sectors. |
