Abstract:In an effort to find out what is going on in television audience measurement in other major countries around the world, BBM Bureau of Measurement, Toronto Canada commissioned New Electronic Media Science of New York to conduct a worldwide survey. The article presents the results of the worldwide telephone survey. The television industry in Canada is highly regionalized. Audiences for the national networks have been measured with a national Nielsen people meter service since 1989.
