| Abstract: | The author of the article answers the question whether "Information and Organization" is a journal and states that people posing this question are usually trying to assess the risks of submitting a manuscript to the journal. They are concerned with the journal's quality. As journal quality has become an important issue, many institutions have established target journal lists. In addressing the issue of journal quality, the author restricts himself to criteria for premier academic journals, not criteria for evaluating professional or practitioner publications. The author also considers the following topics: 1) the review process, 2) what about surveys of journal quality, 3) what about citation counts. |
