| Abstract: | The network view of strategic alliances is expounded in this paper and applied to a developing country, Taiwan. The results indicate that Taiwanese companies are very interested in forming strategic alliances with larger, reputable foreign companies, but that they have no particular interest, nor abilitym in forming horizontal alliances aimed at controlling competitive uncertainties. |
