| Abstract: | The question of whether or not consumers use unit price information has been explored, but the extent to which consumers understand how to use this information has not been fully examined. This exploratory research employs open-ended statements from a sample of 623 consumers to develop a typology of unit price usage knowledge. The typology is used to classify repondents as possessing either lower or higher usage knowledge. |
