Abstract: | The article investigates the impact of long-term health and short-term physician and social antismoking information on adolescents' beliefs about smoking. Results from a study based to a UK school shows that antismoking information about the short-term impact of smoking; for example cosmetic (e.g. yellow fingernails and teeth) and fitness related have a stronger effect on beliefs than long-term health-related information. In addition the authors examine the suggestions for the design of antismoking campaigns. |
