Abstract: | The concept of "hot spot" refers to a centre of high performance and breakthrough innovation. From a managerial point of view, those units require special touch. This article presents a five-phase model of creating and nurturing hot spots. First, the hot spots must be located and the whole organizational system creating hot spots needs to be mapped. Then, the hot spots must be linked to business goals to make them contribute to the performance. Finally, potential leverage points are identified and the necessary actions are taken. |
