| Abstract: | This article deals with the Finnish crafts policy and aims to understand the work of Finnish artisans and the impact of craft policy and development work. The crafts policy is analysed within a cultural, social and economic framework through the methods of content analysis and close-reading. Two types of problems are found in the study: problems related to the entrepreneurial environment and problems related to the entrepreneurs' qualities. The findings of the study indicate that artisans tend to see their work as a lifestyle, which may result in insufficient entrepreneur skills. |
